Works at The Forum, Blackhorse Way, Horsham

PROBLEMS have been encountered with water penetration to the car park located beneath the Piazza at the Forum in Blackhorse Way, Horsham.
The surface of the Piazza area is leased to and managed by Horsham District Council.
It has therefore been agreed in principle between the Council and Sainsbury (the owners of the underground car park beneath The Piazza), Carillion (the original building contractor) and Morleys (who own the shops fronting the Piazza) that a programme of works will take place at the Piazza which will seek to remedy the existing problems. This will involve removing and relaying sections of the stone surface over much of the Piazza area.
Carillion will start work on Monday 2 June for a period of just over 30 weeks but will cease work for the critical retail trading period from 1 November 2008 until 1 February 2009.
The Council and other local stakeholders will work with Carillion to minimise the disruption and inconvenience to local traders and residents. We have endeavoured to notify the many people and organisations who could be affected by these works.
