New Director of Development and Environment
1 June 2008
HORSHAM District Council has appointed Ray Lee as its new Director of Development and Environment, with responsibility for Building Control, Development Control, Environmental Services, Property and Economic Development, and Public Health and Licensing.
Amongst his priorities, Ray will be overseeing the introduction of a new kerbside refuse and recycling collection service and participating in the development of a new Sustainable Community Strategy for the Horsham District’s towns and villages. He will also participate in the review of economic development activity across the county.
Ray is currently the Head of Local Services at Woking Borough Council, where he has been responsible for setting and delivering the Council’s corporate agenda and delivering the services for which he is directly responsible. He starts work in Horsham on 2 June.
Ray says that he feels passionately about the work of local government and wants to continue to contribute to improving local services.
He will join the newly restructured Corporate Management Team at Horsham District Council comprising Tom Crowley, Chief Executive, Tony Higgins, Director of Corporate Resources, and Chris Dier, Director of Community Services.
