Beat The Credit Crunch The Fun Way
10 July 2008
Horsham District Council is encouraging residents to take up their offer of a free Leisure Access Card this summer to help beat the ‘credit crunch’ the fun way.
Aimed at helping Horsham District residents on a low income, the Leisure Access Card offers savings of up to 50% on leisure activities and attractions across the District, including swimming, golf, fitness classes, table tennis and badminton, cinema tickets, swimming, tourist attractions, holiday activities and more.
Almost two thousand residents currently enjoy the use of a free Leisure Access Card but there are many more residents who are eligible but have not yet applied. Anyone on Income Support, Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit, Pension Credit, receive NHS Tax Credit Exemption or a Carers Allowance, can receive this free card. Those on work based training or work based learning, job seekers allowance or are full time students are also eligible.
With rising fuel prices squeezing pockets even further this is a perfect opportunity to start making savings now. The card is valid for one year.
Application forms are available from local libraries, leisure venues, Horsham Tourist Information Centre or Horsham District Council offices. Email: leisure@horsham.gov.uk. Tel: (01403) 215263.
