Breakin’ news!

8 October 2008

BREAKDANCE returns tomorrow to the young people of Horsham through a series of workshops at the Drill Hall, Denne Road, Horsham on Thursday nights.

The floorboards will be shaking from tomorrow (Thursday 9 October) as one of the UK’s leading breakdance experts Rob Lessels (also known as ‘ill Boogz from Sin Cru’ will take to the floor to lead an eight  week course in the latest dance craze.
Speaking of the classes, instructor Rob Lessels said:
“The sessions will aim to cover the core fundamental moves of the dance and how these moves relate to each other and the music.

“The dance itself is both physically and mentally beneficial, helping to improve self esteem and confidence as well as providing a thorough physical workout.”

Horsham District Council’s Community Dance Practitioner Hannah Webb added:

“After the success of our previous breakdance courses we are now offering two sessions for different age groups and hope that more and more young people will take up this fantastic opportunity to work with such a renowned performer.’

The sessions, which take place at the Drill Hall, Denne Road Horsham run from 5.30-6.30pm for 8 to12 year olds and cost £32 (£16 with a Leisure Access Card), while 13 and over sessions run from 7pm - 8.30pm, and cost £40 (£20 with a Leisure Access Card).
