A New Face for Horsham's Public Tennis Courts

27 October 2008

Horsham Park’s public tennis courts are currently undergoing resurfacing work. Weather permitting, the courts are expected to be completed and ready for public use from 15 November 2008.

The four tennis courts and adjoining basketball court are a popular feature of Horsham Park and are open seven days a week throughout the year. The courts are free to use throughout the winter – just turn up and play.

The Racquets Community Club is just one of the groups who use the tennis courts. Run by Liz Hatcher the club meets every Saturday for two hours of coaching and play followed by refreshments in the Conservatory Café. Additional sessions can be arranged for groups or individuals including lunchtime activities for local office workers in Horsham. Interested groups should contact Horsham District Council’s Sports Development Officer on (01403) 215634 or call Liz Hatcher on 07833 364 628 for more information.

Other open access sports facilities are available throughout the Horsham District including multi-sports courts for football, netball or basketball, grass football pitches and basketball goals. For details of free and open access sports facilities across the District contact Horsham District Council on Tel: (01403) 215256, or email: leisure@horsham.gov.uk.
