Can you help Roffey Youth Club?

17 November 2008

ROFFEY Youth Club is in need of more volunteers to expand its popular services.

The club in Horsham’s Roffey area recently re-opened with high numbers of young people attending.

The club aims to open five nights a week soon, but to be able to do this more volunteers are needed to help with the running of the club and to work with the young people.

More volunteers mean that more young people can have a safe place to go to spend time with their friends.

Volunteers are needed one evening a week or perhaps even a few hours each month – whatever can be managed - to help this project grow.

Roffey Youth Club runs every Wednesday evening between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at Godwin Way, off Compton’s Lane, Horsham. It costs 50 pence per session.  Young people aged 11 to 16 can turn up on the night but will need to register.

The Youth Club is also offers two after school sessions a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays).

All potential volunteers will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.

Roffey Youth Club is run by West Sussex County Council Youth Service. A mutli-agency group involving Horsham District Council, Horsham YMCA, Kingdom Faith Church, North Horsham Parish Council, and West Sussex County Council Youth Service are working together to ensure the Youth Club can open on more nights of the week.
