Enjoy Sussex in 2009 - A new look Visitor Guide and Destination Website for Sussex

8 January 2009

Following the success of last year’s Enjoy Sussex Visitor and Accommodation Guide, visitors to rural Sussex can now pick up the new and improved Enjoy Sussex Visitor Guide 2009 which offers a wealth of essential information on what to see and do in rural Sussex.

The Enjoy Sussex 2009 guide has been produced in partnership by Horsham, Mid Sussex, Lewes and Wealden District Councils, covering an area stretching West to East from Pulborough to Burwash, and north to south from Horsham to Seaford Head.

The free glossy brochure, including details of nationally quality-assessed accommodation and attractions in one compact guide, gives visitors an insight into some of England's finest countryside and coast, illustrating Enjoy Sussex as the perfect destination for a day visit, relaxing short break or a longer holiday.

For 2009 the Enjoy Sussex Partnership launched a photography competition, searching for outstanding photographic images of the Enjoy Sussex region. Local residents, whether amateur photographers, club members or professionals, were invited to submit images covering a range of categories, from Landscape and Family Fun to local Market Towns and Pure Indulgence.

The competition received an excellent response with a high standard of entries submitted by participants from across the region. The winning entry, featuring a striking view of the Cuckmere Valley, was submitted by Mr Stewart Angell. The Enjoy Sussex Partnership, so impressed with the quality of the winning image, decided it should take pride of place on the guide’s 2009 front cover.

To complement the 2009 guide, the Enjoy Sussex website http://www.enjoysussex.info enables potential visitors from around the world to discover the vibrant, award winning and individual character of this beautiful part of rural Sussex.

Tourism plays an important role in improving the local economy. This guide will help to bring new and repeat visitors to the area, bringing in more income and supporting local jobs. The guide is practical, informative, attractive and easy to use.
