CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE
HORSHAM town’s Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) was introduced in July 2003.
It followed detailed consultation by West Sussex County Council with local residents and businesses.
Before then, motorists in Horsham had to compete for the limited on-street parking spaces and this caused severe parking problems.
Horsham’s CPZ is designed to stop all day on-street commuter parking in the town, making it easier for residents, visitors and shoppers to park. This should also help improve road safety and remove obstructions to private driveways by stopping indiscriminate parking.
The CPZ includes the whole of Horsham town centre and some surrounding residential areas, and runs using a permit and pay-and-display system.
