HOW IT WORKS - CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE
The CPZ is sub-divided into zones, as shown on the Zone Map.
| Controlled Parking Zone signs (see Example 1) are located at all inner and outer entry points. These inform motorists of the hours during which parking is controlled in the area they are entering. The hours of parking control are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturdays and excludes Sundays and bank holidays. |

During the hours of control, parking is permitted only in designated parking bays (marked with white lines on the road), by displaying valid pay and display tickets or permits. Signs are positioned adjacent to all parking bays showing the hours of parking control, the type of parking permitted, the time limit applicable and the cost per hour, where there is a charge. (See Examples 2 and 3).Within the CPZ there are also various limited waiting parking bays. These are clearly indicated by road signs and payment is not necessary in these bays. Some limited waiting bays can also be used by permit holders for unlimited stays (where signs on street permit). |

| Outside the hours of control, parking is not restricted in bays or on single yellow lines unless specifically indicated by a statutory yellow time plate (see Example 4). Parking should not take place where it would endanger or inconvenience pedestrians or other road users. |

| Motorcycles and scooters do not require a permit or pay and display ticket but must park within the marked bays. They must also park considerately between residents’ cars. | ||
