SUPPORTING PEOPLE

DO YOU NEED SUPPORT TO:
- Manage your money?
- Run your home?
- Deal with paperwork?
- Access services in the community?
- Find suitable healthcare?
You might be:
- An older person wishing to remain in your own home
- A young person living on their own for the first time
- Someone with a learning disability, mental health or
- substance misuse problem
- Homeless and in a hostel or temporary accommodation.
Even if there is no support service immediately available for you, it is important that we know about your needs so that we can plan for the future. You need to complete the form Application for Housing Support or contact us for further advice or information.
MORE ABOUT SUPPORTING PEOPLE
Supporting People is central Government's long-term policy to fund, plan and commission housing-related Support Services.
SUPPORTING PEOPLE AIMS TO:-
- Focus on needs led provision at a local level.
- Offer a wider choice and range of services for vulnerable people.
- Integrate Strategies at a Local and National level to facilitate delivery of key health and Community Safety agendas.
- Monitor, inspect and review the quality and effectiveness of services.
- Provide a framework to allow effective decision making and administrative process to take place.
At a local level this will enable a wide range of vulnerable and older people to receive support which enables them to live as independently as possible in their homes within the community.
