Horsham District Prevention of Homelessness Strategy Draft – 2008- 2013
The Homelessness Act 2002 requires all local authorities to produce a homelessness strategy at least every 5 years and Horsham District Council’s current Homelessness Strategy expires in 2008. The Strategy must be the result of multi-agency working and be informed by a thorough review of homelessness in the area and of the services currently available to address it.
The purpose of the review is to highlight where there are gaps in service provision and/or where services can be improved. The Strategy should be a realistic, jointly agreed statement and should set out how the agencies intend to plug the gaps and improve the services over a period of 5 years.
The draft Prevention of Homelessness Strategy is now available and we would welcome your input. The consultation period runs until 12 September 2008 and we would encourage Councillors/Colleagues, partner organisations and stakeholders to make their views known – this will help to shape the final document and ensure that the Council and its partners can use the Strategy to set and achieve targets.
If you would like a paper copy of the Draft Strategy, please contact us and we will send one to you. We are very grateful for your time and interest and will carefully consider all the responses we receive. You can telephone, email or write to us.
