KEYWORKER HOUSING

There are a number of housing options available to keyworkers including properties to rent or buy.  For more information please see our Home Ownership page. 

The following outlines the current list of qualifying Keyworkers.  The definition may change from time to time so if you are not sure, please contact Moat, details at the bottom of the page.

Who Qualifies As A Keyworker?

Keyworkers eligible for the Keyworker Living schemes include the following;

NHS

  • All clinical staff employed by the NHS including social workers and qualified nursery nurses. (Please note that this includes a wide range of NHS occupations from Nurses to the Ambulance Service and NHS dentists etc – if you are not sure, please ask)

Prison Service – Lewes

The following post employed within the Prison Service;

  • Prison Officers and related grades
  • Nursing staff – A, B, C, D, E, F and G
  • Operational Support Grades (OSG’S)
  • Industrials 
  • Instructional Officers

Police

  • Police Officers and Community Support Officers (not civilian staff)
  • British Transport Police Officers and Community Support Officers based at Brighton and Gatwick

Fire and Rescue Services

  • Uniformed staff, below principal level.

Local Authority / County Council

  • Qualified Social Workers 
  • Qualified Occupational Therapists 
  • Qualified Educational Psychologists
  • Planning Officers employed in Local Planning Authorities delivering statutory planning services
  • Clinical Staff
  • Nursery Nurses
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Rehabilitation Officers for the visually impaired

Education

  • Qualified teachers in maintained primary and secondary schools and teachers in further education establishments.  Children's social workers and qualified nursery nurses who work for the LEA are also eligible.

Probation Service

  • Within the Probation Service, Senior Probation Officers, Probation Officers, Probation Service Officers (Trainee Probation Officers eligible for intermediate rent only – as available at Southwater.
