COMBATING ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

Policy and Procedure Statement – Temporary Accommodation

Horsham District Council aims to secure a better quality of life for all the residents of the district.

The Councils approach to anti-social behaviour aims to ensure that all its residents in temporary accommodation enjoy the right to a decent and peaceful living environment where they can enjoy their home without disturbance from neighbours or other people.   This includes encouraging good behaviour and taking action against anti-social behaviour.  To achieve this, the Council works in partnership with a number of agencies including the Police, Horsham and District Mediation Service, the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and other organisations.

The Council has developed a formal Policy and Procedure Statement in compliance with the 2003 Anti-Social Behaviour Act.   The document outlines how the Council will deal with the perpetrators of anti-social behaviour and what the victims or complainants can expect from the Council.

The Policy and Procedure Statement is used as a procedure guide for Council Officers dealing with such issues and an information guide for residents.
