CONCESSIONARY FARES - BUS PASS

Concessionary Travel Scheme
Bus passes from 1 April 2008
A new scheme is being introduced from
1 April which entitles anyone over the age of 60 or with certain disabilities to travel 'free' on bus services anywhere in England.
In the Horsham District, free travel is available from 9am Monday to Friday. Please be aware that this may not be the case in other areas as many schemes do not start until 9.30am. In addition free bus travel will be unlimited on weekends and Bank Holidays.
You are eligible for a National bus pass if:
- you are a permanent resident in the Horsham District
and
- of state pensionable age (men and women 60 years and over)
or
- registered blind or partially sighted
- suffering from a disability which seriously impairs ability to walk, or without the use of both arms
- profoundly or severely deaf - without speech
- not permitted to drive on medical grounds or likely to be refused a driving licence on medical grounds
- learning disability
- mental health issues which prevent the holding of a full driving licence
Companion passes are available to eligible people who are severely disabled and require assistance to travel.
Please note - these passes do not qualify for the national scheme, so can only be used within the Horsham District area. To qualify you should provide either a Doctor’s letter or complete the form available below.
