THE BIG NIBBLE
If you love food and are particularly passionate about locally produced food and drink, you really don’t want to miss out the legendary annual Big Nibble in Horsham. It's the most hotly anticipated event on the Food and Drink Festival calendar! The one day event is part of the month long Horsham District Food and Drink Festival - a celebration of locally produced food and drink in the District.
The 2009 event took place on 26 September and attracted record crowds. Its popularity was overwhelming as crowds turned up in droves to Horsham’s Carfax and in the Drill Hall on Denne Road. Some producers had sold out by lunch time and had to make emergency trips to replenish their stocks. The Horsham Food and Drink Festival and The Big Nibble are both organised by Horsham District Council, with sponsorship from Freedom Food, West Sussex County Council, Federation of Small Businesses, Spirit FM and The Resident.
In 2009, The Big Nibble offered a double whammy, with two venues in Horsham town centre, plus all the excitement and special offers from the many town centre businesses participating in the month long Festival. The Big Nibble in The Carfax got underway at 9am and finished at 4pm, with a much extended Local Produce Market and chef demonstration kitchen situated adjacent to the bandstand.
Take a look below for what happened at the 2009 event:

The popular Horsham Beer Trail was back as part of the 2009 Big Nibble. Participants picked up their commemorative mini beer trail tankard and programme and set off for a journey, visiting nine of the town centre’s most diverse watering holes. At just £1 per person they could sample some of the finest beers that Horsham pubs have on offer. Those who completed the Horsham Beer trail and returned their form had the chance to win a case of Hepworth's Sussex! The prize wass courtesy of The Beer Essentials on East Street, Horsham – real ale to take away from the cask and ready to drink.
The 2010 Big Nibble details will be posted here in August. For further details of any aspect of The Big Nibble event call 01403 215529 or email business.development@horsham.gov.uk
