NAMING OF A STREET OR A PROPERTY
House Naming or Re-naming
If you wish to change the name of a property or add a house name to your postal address please telephone (01403) 215139 or email contact@horsham.gov.uk for further information. Care should be taken to ensure that the house name chosen is not the same as or too similar to existing house names in the area. When the naming or re-naming of the property has been finalised the Portsmouth Land Registry at St. Andrews Court, St. Michaels Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO1 2JH (tel: 02392 768888) should also be advised of the change.
Street Naming and Numbering
If you are a developer and require postal addresses for a new development please telephone (01403) 215139 or email contact@horsham.gov.uk for further information. If the new development includes the construction of a new road which requires naming the Council is happy for the developers to make some suggestions for the name of the road in the first instance. The Council prefers names to have some local significance and should not be too similar to existing names in the area. It should also be noted that the name chosen to market a development will not necessarily be the one chosen for the road name.
Street Nameplates
To report a damaged or missing street nameplate please telephone (01403) 215063, leave a message on the Council's out of hours number (01403) 215100 or email property@horsham.gov.uk
