SHOPMOBILITY - HOW DOES IT OPERATE ?
To use the Shopmobility service, please telephone or visit the office at the Swan Walk Car Park to make an appointment for registration and training on a mutually convenient date. A means of identification (to include an address) will be required. Full instruction is provided by the staff and will take about 45 minutes. You will be shown how to use the vehicles and a small area is available for you to practise and test them. Once you feel confident you can make your own way to the shops.
Once enrolled in the scheme, a user's card will be issued to speed up your future bookings. Chairs and scooters must be booked in advance by calling at the office or by telephoning 01403 249015 during the hours of opening. This is necessary as otherwise there may not be a vehicle available.
On arrival you or your companion will be able to park in a specially reserved area at the car park. There will be a member of staff on hand to welcome you.
