Join the Council’s Housing Register
If you are looking for affordable housing to rent or buy, or are an existing RSL tenant looking to transfer from your current Housing Association home, you must apply to join the Housing Register by completing a housing registration form. Housing Register Application Form
We have a distinct shortage of available properties in the District, and demand by far outstrips supply.
Stay at home with help from us
We work with a range of organisations within the community that can offer you help and advice on remaining in your own home. Advice can be given on areas such as debt, managing your money, rights and welfare.
We also provide a range of assistive technology through Community Link, helping you to live independently in your own home with peace of mind.
Low cost home ownership
HomeBuy is a government funded initiative to provide low cost, affordable homes. Moat help people who wish to buy a property but are unable to raise a mortgage large enough to do so, and key workers that wish to rent but cannot afford to pay market rents.

Buy or rent in the private sector
If you are in the private sector, we are able to assist vulnerable and poorer homeowners with repairs and improvements, especially where this benefits health or allows people to remain in their own homes. A range of private sector grants are available; for repairs, energy efficiency, disabled facilities and empty properties.
If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, we operate a drop-in service. We also work with a range of organisations that can offer you advice and support.
