THE COUNCIL'S IEG STATEMENT

Horsham District Council's Corporate Plan continues to provide the framework within which the challenge of meeting the rapidly changing needs of the community can be met. Its mission statement is:

  • Working in Partnership, To Secure a Better Quality of Life for All We will consult with and listen to the people who live or work within the District and introduce a Community Strategy to promote social, economic and environmental wellbeing.
  • We will forge partnerships with the public, private and voluntary sectors, to fulfil our obligations to the community at large to provide value for money.
  • An important measure of our success will be our ability to make a real difference to the lives of people in most need of help.

In support of its mission statement, it is committed to finding solutions for delivery of services and facilities that best meet those needs. This to be achieved through partnership and collaboration particularly with those groups and individuals that are direct recipients of the services provided.

Following consultation with the public through questionnaires, telephone surveys, surveys and public exhibitions the most commonly expressed concerns have been consolidated under the following seven themes:

  • Bringing people together
  • Local Homes for local people
  • Good Health
  • Helping you have your say
  • Helping business to succeed
  • Transport issue
  • Protecting our world

Horsham has, and will continue to, explore ways in which its services can be delivered in both an efficient and cost effective manner, together with supporting the objective of delivering central government’s national strategy by 31st December 2005 as currently defined in its e-gov@local consultation document.
