COUNCIL'S STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS 2005/06

Financial Acounts 2005/06

The Council’s accounts are an important element in demonstrating the stewardship of public money.

It is the responsibility of the Director of Resources to ensure the preparation of the Statement of Accounts in accordance with statutory and accounting requirements. The Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2006 was approved by the Council’s Final Accounts Committee on 28 June 2006.

Interested members of the public had a statutory right to inspect the accounts. The accounts were available for inspection from 10 July 2006 to 4 August 2006 and these dates were advertised in the local newspaper, the West Sussex County Times, on 23 June 2006.

A copy of the statement is published here following the Audit Commission's audit and statement of their opinion. A summary of the accounts which provide a brief overview of the year end position are also available for download below.
