BUDGET REVIEW WORKING GROUP
Chairman: Councillor Leonard Crosbie
The Budget Review WG is made up of 9 non-Executive Council Members. The terms of reference of the Group are to consider and make recommendations to the Scrutiny & Overview Committee on the following:
- To examine the outcome of the previous year's Budget and review selected areas of major expenditure.
- To receive quarterly reports of the current year’s actual versus Budget on a year-to-date basis in order to identify possible areas of concern.
- To monitor current trends in the Council's cost and revenue in key areas.
- To scrutinise the Medium-Term Financial Strategy to achieve a balanced Budget in 2008/09.
- To consider and review the Budget for the current year and the draft Budget for the coming year.
- To consider new major changes to the Budget over the course of the year.
- To consider detailed analysis of departmental/section Budgets as considered appropriate.
