COUNCIL'S STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS 2006/07
The Council’s accounts are an important element in demonstrating the stewardship of public money.
It is the responsibility of the Director of Resources to ensure the preparation of the Statement of Accounts in accordance with statutory and accounting requirements. The Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2007 was approved by the Council’s Final Accounts Committee on 28 June 2007.
Interested members of the public had a statutory right to inspect the accounts. The accounts were available for inspection from 2 to 27 July 2007 and these dates were advertised in the local newspaper, the West Sussex County Times, on 15 June 2007.
A copy of the statement is published here following the Audit Commission's audit together with the Annual Governance report. A summary of the accounts which provide a brief overview of the year end position are also available for download below.
