The Big Conversation

Cllr Jonathan Chowen, Leader of Horsham District Council, is committed to entering into a conversation with the community about some of the key issues which we are facing as a District. As part of this work three public meetings are taking place across the District, hosted by Cllr Chowen, some of his Cabinet and the Council’s Chief Executive.

All venues are now fully booked.

Following the third and final meeting all the questions and answers raised will be collated and published on this webpage by Friday 27 May.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • The Climate and Environment
    An opportunity to hear about how the Council is reducing its own emissions with a new three year Carbon Reduction Action Plan and a chance to discuss how the Council can work with our residents, businesses and community groups to address the climate emergency. You will also be able to learn more about a Wilder Horsham District and the work the Council is undertaking with its partner the Sussex Wildlife Trust to help wildlife thrive across the District.
  • The Local Plan and Water Neutrality
    Any new development in Horsham District is now required to be ‘Water Neutral’. This will be an opportunity to understand more about this topic and understand what impact it will have on our emerging Local Plan. The session will also provide an opportunity to understand how we can deliver a robust local plan for the community.
  • HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
    An opportunity to learn more about our plans to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
