School holiday sports and activities

Our Sports Development team run sports sessions and school holiday activities for children of all ages and abilities.

  • Sport, art and play day camps: full day and half-day activity days for ages 5-12
  • Sports skills sessions: shorter sessions focused on a particular sport
October half term day camps are yet to be confirmed.

Sport, art and play day camps

Our full day and half day activity camps in Horsham District run during the school holidays. We offer a mix of activities over three days of a holiday week.

  • Suitable for 5-12 year olds
  • 8.30-5.30 for a full day, or 8.30-1 or 1-5.30 for a half day
  • Venue: Forest Recreation Centre, based at Forest School. Collyer's Sixth Form College and Horsham Park are also sometimes used.
  • Children staying all day should come with a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of drink. Children booked for a half day should come with snacks and plenty of drink.

Day camp activities

  • Sports sessions: The sports sessions take into account the numbers, ages and abilities of the children on any given day as well as their preferences. Our staff are trained and equipped to deliver a wide range of sports, including athletics, ball sports, tag rugby, table tennis, golf, paralympic sports, skateboarding and Shoretrax and much more
  • Arts activities: Creative activities include crafts, music, dance and Lego
  • Free play: We fully understand the importance of play in children's development, and ensure that children get lots of opportunity to play freely so they can be more relaxed, creative, social, and be themselves. We have lots of fun play equipment, including circus skills items, pogo sticks, spacehoppers, giant board games and swing ball.

Sports skills sessions

These short sessions focus on a particular sport.

  • Suitable for 5-12 year olds
  • Venue: Forest Recreation Centre, based at Forest School. Collyer's Sixth Form College and Horsham Park are also sometimes used.
  • Children should come with snacks and plenty of drink.

Typically sport sessions will consist of a warm-up, skills and drills and matchplay (possibly including a tournament). Our staff are trained to deliver a wide range of sports, including the below and many more:

  • Athletics
  • Ball sports, including basketball, football, netball, dodgeball
  • Badminton
  • Cricket
  • Hockey
  • Rounders
  • Tag rugby
  • Tennis
  • Paralympic sports, including boccia, wheelchair sports and sitting volleyball
  • Skateboarding and cycling
  • Golf, disc golf and fun golf
  • Ultimate frisbee
