Community Hero Nominations
This year marks a milestone for the Council, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
In honour of our golden year, we are celebrating the people that make our District a great place to be. Our Chairman is hosting a special thank you tea party at Warnham Local Nature Reserve for your Community Heroes on Thursday 20 June.
Residents can also enjoy a selection of 70s music performances and film showings, a special after-hours event at Horsham Museum & Art Gallery and a golden anniversary theme to our May half term activities.
Vote for your Community Hero
Our community is full of great people. If you know a Community Hero we want to hear about them.
Do you know someone who deserves a special thank you for making your neighbourhood a better place to live?
They could be a friendly face at your local store, a postie who goes the extra mile, a neighbour who is there when you most need them, a carer who goes above and beyond, a super sports coach, a litter picker keeping your street tidy, a fantastic youth leader or a volunteer driver.
From individual impact to people with a tireless drive to serve your community we want to say thank you to the everyday heroes of the District.
Nominate your local hero by 5pm on Monday 1 May 2024:
Please check with your nominee that they are happy to be nominated, and for you to share their telephone number and email address with us. We will only use these details to contact you or them about the tea party.

Can you design our thank you card?
We are calling on creative primary-aged children in the District to design a thank you card for our fantastic Community Heroes.
Our competition is open to any primary-aged children living in or attending school in the District.
Designs can be drawn, painted, or collaged but should fit on a single side of A4 paper.
Grown-ups can submit entries by sending in a scan or photograph of the design, along with the name and age of the artist to: communications@horsham.gov.uk.
Designs must be submitted by 5pm on Monday 1 May 2024.
The winning design will be made into a thank you card for all our wonderful Community Heroes.
