Job title: Disability Playscheme Leader [Short Breaks]

Location: Horsham, Crawley and occasionally Worthing

Appointment: 8 months Fixed-term basis, with the potential for a permanent role.

Hours: 20 per week

Hourly Rate: £13.23

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, to include one or two weekday evenings per week and two Saturdays a month.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Disability Playscheme Leader to join our SEND team.

In this role, you will lead inclusive play activities, helping children and young people with disabilities build confidence, friendships and independence in a safe, fun environment.

This is a rewarding position with opportunities for training, development and career progression, with many team members going on to roles in education, health and social care.

We are now looking for a Disability Playscheme Leader to join our team! This incredible role supports people aged 6 to 30 and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of disabled children, young people, and their families. By delivering key services, you will enhance their physical and emotional well-being. These services include delivering sessions at one of our in-house locations, out in the local community and trips to larger attractions.

  • Someone who can manage their own workload, create amazing sessions and activities, and be the support for disabled children, young people and families can reach their full potential.

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role or life experience within comparable situations is desirable.
  • Exceptional people skills and empathetic approach, particularly when facilitating and offering advice.
  • Comfortable providing personal care to children and young adults, with the delicate skill of facilitating identity building whilst supporting confidence, self-esteem and dignity.
  • A full driving licence and transport to be able to reliably travel to the nominated activity facilities.
