Free tennis Friday winners announced

29 Aug 2018

Horsham District Council launched its first family annual membership scheme for its Horsham Park tennis courts earlier this summer with a Free Tennis Friday promotion on Friday 27 July.

As part of the promotion, participants who signed up for the membership scheme were entered into a prize draw to win some top tennis prizes.

First place winner was Helen Surley from Horsham who won a Wilson Roger Federer racket and the runner up was Mary Spreadbury from Warnham who won a family tennis pack of rackets and balls.

The annual membership scheme represents extremely good value for money at just £45 a year per family and the initial sign up numbers have been extremely positive.

The Horsham Park courts underwent a successful makeover last year. Improvements include new fencing, new surfaces, re-marking and a new gate and booking system, ensuring that players can guarantee use of a court at their chosen time. The introduction of floodlighting allows players to maximise bookings throughout the year, with play continuing into the evening.

All four courts can be used specifically for tennis over the summer months, however in the autumn and winter months, one court can be used for multi sports.

For more information about the courts and to book a court visit the Horsham Park Tennis website.
