Council meeting moves to Storrington

Published: 12 Oct 2022

Following discussions between the Leaders of the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats and the Chairman, the Horsham District Council meeting of full Council on 19 October will be held in Storrington at the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre.

The purpose of taking the meeting away from the Council’s usual venue in Parkside, Horsham, is to give the opportunity for people living in the southern towns and villages of Horsham District to engage with democracy without the need to travel to Horsham.

The Chanctonbury Leisure Centre has invited the Council to use their Studio free of charge. The address is Chanctonbury Community Leisure Centre, Spierbridge Rd, Storrington, Pulborough RH20 4BG. The centre has ample parking and you will be welcomed by their staff at the main reception.

Cllr Jonathan Chowen, Leader of the District Council commented:

On becoming the Leader of the Council I committed to holding more public meetings and entering into a conversation with the whole of our community about key opportunities and challenges facing the Council.

Earlier in the year we held public meetings across the District called ‘The Big Conversation’ which were really well received and I think holding our next full Council meeting in Storrington will help towards reaching a broader audience, enabling more people from the south of the District to come along.
