Horsham District Council is working in partnership with Making a Difference and Collyer’s College to bring together a broad range of career opportunities at the 2022 Careers Fair on 26 November in the Sports Hall of Collyer’s College.

Local job hunters of all ages and abilities who are looking for paid work, voluntary work or new training opportunities are invited to come along from 2pm to 4pm.

The Fair will be a great opportunity for those seeking a job, thinking of changing their existing one, or considering on-the-job training through an apprenticeship to meet a wide range of employers eager to recruit and grow their organisations.

Just some of the employers and training providers who have signed up to attend this year include:

Stagecoach, Creative Technology, Wizz Air, WHSmith, Border Force, Thales, Turning Tides, Home Instead, Perfect Start, Christopher Robin, West Sussex Libraries, BW Cars, Thales, MK Survey, TouchPoint Resource, Shroders, West Sussex Transport and Horsham District Council.

This event is free for employers to enrol and there is still time for potential employers to sign up by emailing mades@edt.org .

Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy Cllr Jonathan Chowen:

I am delighted that we are teaming up with Making a Difference and Collyer’s College to hold this event as I believe it will play an important role in securing new opportunities for residents and will also help many businesses with their recruitment plans.

I would encourage as many people as possible who are looking for work or to start new training programmes to save the date and come along on the day to meet the broad range of employers and check out the many opportunities on offer.

Making a Difference’s Employer Engagement Manager Tara Woodford added:

This will be a great event for those trying to find work to come along, meet some friendly faces and find out what local opportunities are available in the Horsham area. Employers are keen to meet people to help them fill skills gaps, and we will be there to offer advice on how we can help people to explore their options, job search and get interview ready.

The event will help to show how much the Horsham area has to offer in terms of employment offerings, and how much support there is to help people find work.

The fair looks to build on the success of previous fairs in our District which have in the past helped hundreds of local companies connect with local people looking to find jobs and grow their skills in our ever-changing jobs market.

Refreshments will be provided by Beeches Buffet.
