The 2024 Horsham District Jobs and Skills Fair once again brought local recruiters and hundreds of local jobseekers together to Horsham’s Drill Hall on Saturday 21 September 2024 to make the event a great success.

Organised by Horsham District Council, the Jobs and Skills event was a platform for some 28 employers, training and college organisations and voluntary groups and charities from the local area to attract new employees, apprentices, and volunteers.

Of the 28 organisations that took part, local company regulars Hydrachem, Little Barn Owls, Harris Lord and Chichester College were once again present, along with newcomers London Gatwick Airport, Air Partner, Hendy Group and RAF.

Over 560 opportunities were available on the day and some 400 visitors took advantage of the wide range of vacancies available. There were also several free employability workshops provided by Amy Blick from exhilHRate and Adam Knight & Associates exploring top tips to unlock job seeking potential.

Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy, Cllr Joanne Knowles was impressed with the companies attending and said:

I am delighted that so many organisations came along to showcase their vacancies at our Jobs Fair and equally that so many local people attended.

The availability of jobs shows that many of our local companies are performing well and recruiting for growth, which is a positive sign for our local economy.

As well as unemployed people using this event to get back into paid work, the event was also really useful for people seeking a change in career direction and people looking to upskill their talents to improve their job prospects in the future.
