As part of a series of meetings with prominent local businesses, two Cabinet Members from Horsham District Council – Cllr’s Collette Blackburn and Jonathan Taylor – recently visited software development specialists, Red River at their premises in Springfield House.
Red River Software provide bespoke software solutions for high-growth businesses, funded start-ups, investors, and organisations undergoing rapid change, across a wide sector of industries.
Founded by two self-described tech geniuses, Simon Pringle and Kieren Johnstone, and based in Horsham since 2008, Red River has grown into a thriving business, employing just under 30 staff.
Red River is a strong example of a local success story, both directors have lived and worked in the area for years, and the company maintains a strong local client base, with 50% of clients located within 20 miles of Horsham. Their clients have included Boeing, Veolia and the NHS.
Simon and Kieran gave the Councillors valuable insights into their company’s journey and the challenges they face in the business environment in which they operate. A number of useful suggestions were discussed as to ways in which the Council could provide additional support to companies like Red River and follow up actions are being planned as a result.
Commenting on the visit, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, Cllr Jonathan Taylor said: "It was great to meet the team at Red River Software and find out more about this well-established local business.
It is valuable to understand the perspectives of such a great local employer who are providing cutting edge software solutions that enable such a range of organisations to operate more effectively.
We look forward to continuing our contact with Red River going forward.”
