Council visit to Schroders Campus in Horsham

Published: 18 Aug 2025

As part of a series of meetings with prominent local businesses, Horsham District Council’s Enterprise team and Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property Cllr Jonathan Taylor recently visited Schroders and Benchmark Capital at the Schroders Campus in Horsham.

Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management in public and private markets and wealth management solutions. They have over 200 years of expertise and are based in 38 locations around the world. Benchmark is part of the Schroders Group, operating independently to provide financial planning advice, technology and solutions for financial advisers, families and business owners.

Both businesses operate from a modern campus in Horsham, where they host over 700 employees.

Schroders takes great pride in its commitment to sustainability, marking a major milestone in June 2024 with the installation of a solar canopy in their car park and a solar farm on the campus which is designed to provide approximately 25% of the site’s annual energy needs. Additional green projects include on-site electric vehicle chargers, food composting used on-site and beehives that contribute to local biodiversity by producing honey.

The Council’s visit included a comprehensive guided tour of the campus, followed by a meeting with members of both Schroders and Benchmark Capital’s senior leadership team to discuss a range of business challenges and opportunities, as well as potential areas of collaboration with the Council.

Commenting on the visit, Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, Cllr Jonathan Taylor said:

“Schroders is a global business with a strong local presence and commitment to sustainability, employee wellbeing, and community engagement. Meeting the teams at both Schroders and Benchmark offered a valuable insight into the operations of these important local employers.

It was a pleasure to explore ways we can help raise their profile within the community and I look forward to further strengthening our excellent relationship moving forward.”

Ed Dymott, Chief Executive of Benchmark Capital, part of the Schroders Group, said:

“We were delighted to host Horsham District Council at the Schroders Campus. It was a valuable opportunity to share the opportunities and challenges we face and discuss how we can work together to make a positive impact locally. We look forward to continuing the conversation and building a strong partnership with the Council.”

The visit to the Schroders Campus is part of the Council’s engagement programme with businesses within the District that help to create, maintain, and promote a prosperous community and local economy. Keep a look out for news of future business visits.
