Horsham over the February half term holiday will be a fun place to visit with lots of children’s events and activities on offer, all brought to you by Horsham District Council.
Most activities are free or very low cost but do check out if you need to book.
The half term schedule includes:
Blackbridge Community Centre is hosting an opportunity for children and adults to get up close to some of the world’s amazing animals with the team from Animazing. There’s also a selection of bug themed arts and crafts to enjoy before heading out into the park to take part in our seasonal nature hunt. This all takes place on 18 February from 10am to 3.15pm. Animal Encounters with Animazing is available to book at a cost of just £2.50.
At Warnham Local Nature Reserve children are invited to make a bird box on 18 February. There are two sessions running from 10.30am to 12noon and 1.30pm to 3pm. The cost is just £10 per child (must be accompanied by an adult).
Booking is essential as places are strictly limited. Book at the Reserve Visitor Centre or call 01403 756238. This event is being run by the Friends of Warnham Local Nature Reserve.
Horsham Park on 19 February is the venue for Pop up in the Park sports activities including golf, archery, football, stoolball and garden games for the younger children. Our Council team will be joined by members of West Sussex County Council Family Services team to help at this event. These activities are all free, just come along to the pitch area between the Rec Rooms and the pond. The sessions run from 10am to 12noon.
A Forest Schools session will be taking place at Leechpool Woods on 20 February from 11am to 12noon. The cost is just £2 per person. There will also be a den building session from 1pm to 3pm costing £4 per session. Booking is essential for both sessions.
Horsham Museum and Art Gallery is bringing back its ever-popular family craft sessions with a Lunar New Year theme. Come along and create fun crafts inspired by Lunar New Year celebrations and the beginning of the Year of the Horse. The sessions will run from 17 to 20 February at 10.30am to 3pm.
