Horsham District Council has announced a new round of Green LEAP small business grant funding to support local businesses, which will open to applications on Friday 10 April 2026, at 12noon.
Through the Green LEAP scheme, small Horsham District based businesses can apply for up to £5,000 towards climate-friendly projects to improve their sustainability and reduce their carbon footprint, which in turn will reduce their operational costs and attract new customers.
Businesses are advised to start reviewing their business plans now, so they can submit their applications early, as they will be required to include a detailed plan in their grant application. It is important businesses prepare early as funding is limited, with applications closing on Monday 20 April 2026 at 12noon.
To help businesses understand what is required, a ‘How to write your business plan’ video is available to watch for free on the Council’s website.
Commenting on this new round of Green LEAP funding, Cllr Jonathan Taylor, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, said: “Green LEAP gives businesses a real incentive to step back and think strategically about their future. It’s not just about securing a grant, but also an opportunity for businesses to develop or refresh business plans and set out clear plans for growth, resilience and building a more sustainable operation for the years ahead.
I encourage businesses to start preparing their business plans now, so they can apply early and not miss out on this next round of funding.”
Creative Spark Services in Horsham, who provide specialist technical expertise for the events industry, received a Green LEAP grant to help reduce their CO2 emissions and significantly lower their carbon footprint.
They commented: “Thanks to the Green LEAP Grant, we have invested in two Instagrid One portable power packs, offering us and our clients a clean and efficient alternative to traditional fuel-based generators for use at smaller events.”
The next round of Green LEAP funding opens to applications at 12noon on Friday 10 April to 12noon on Monday 20 April 2026. Find out more about eligibility requirements, the application process and how to access the business planning video on the Council website.
