Council visits highway experts Eurovia and Ringway

Horsham District Council’s Enterprising Horsham team, joined by Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property Cllr Jonathan Taylor, visited Eurovia and Ringway’s office in Horsham, to learn more about the company’s role in supporting regional and national infrastructure.

Eurovia is a specialist in highway surfacing and asphalt production, with Ringway specialising in strategic and local highway infrastructure services, both forming key parts of the UK division of VINCI Construction.

Based at Albion House on Springfield Road, Ringway has been part of the Horsham business community for 50 years, and currently employs around 80 staff in roles spanning finance, tendering and IT support. The site serves as a key hub within the company’s wider UK operations.

The company is actively pursuing carbon reduction initiatives aligned with the group’s wider sustainability strategy, advanced recycling to deliver a circular economy of road materials, transitioning to electric commercial vehicle fleets using renewable electricity, and developing lower-carbon asphalt manufacturing processes.

During the visit, the Council team met with members of the company’s senior leadership team to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the business, as well as potential areas for future collaboration with the Council.

Cllr Jonathan Taylor, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, said: “It was a pleasure to visit Eurovia and Ringway, learning more about the company’s important role in delivering infrastructure projects across the region and beyond. It was particularly encouraging to hear about their commitment to carbon reduction and innovation in materials.

I look forward to continuing our relationship with this significant local employer and exploring potential opportunities for collaboration.

Chief Executive Scott Wardrop of VINCI Construction Holding said: “It was an honour to host the senior Horsham District Council Enterprise Horsham team and Cllr Jonathan Taylor. We enjoyed discussing our history from humble beginnings in Horsham's Carfax to Albion House, and our greater group in the UK. We appreciated the interest in the types of jobs and roles we support in Horsham and what helps local employment.”

The visit to Albion House is part of the Council’s engagement programme with businesses within the District that help to create, maintain, and promote a prosperous community and local economy. Keep an eye out for news of future visits.
