Horsham marks Armed Forces Sunday with a fly past

Horsham District Council and The Royal British Legion will be hosting a day of celebration to mark Armed Forces Day on Sunday 28 June in the Carfax.

Horsham town centre will be transformed into a Veterans’ Village with stalls from the Food Rocks Market, cars and trucks from the Capel Military Vehicles group and special performances on the Carfax bandstand.

As a first this year, there will be a fly past over the War Memorial by Hurricane PX865 at approximately 1.05pm, the plane will do three passes and wave at the crowds with its wings as it leaves.

The event programme is as follows:

10am    Music from The Free Electric Band, Carfax Bandstand
11am    Band, Standards, Veterans and Cadets parade to War Memorial
11.10am    Welcome from RBL Chair
11.30am    Surrey and Sussex Drum and Bugle Corps Display
11.45am    Music from Vintage Trio in Veterans Village
12.15pm    Surrey and Sussex Drum and Bugle Corps Display
12.30pm    Music from The Free Electric Band, Carfax Bandstand
1.00pm    Music from Vintage Trio in Veterans Village
1.30pm    Surrey and Sussex Drum and Bugle Corps Display
1.45pm    Music from The Free Electric Band , Carfax Bandstand
2.45pm    Sunset Ceremony at War Memorial
3pm    Close of Event.
