Horsham District Council’s Enterprising Horsham team, joined by Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property Cllr Jonathan Taylor, recently visited Brolly Brewing in Horsham to learn more about the business’ important community and entertainment offering.
Established in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Brook and Holly, Brolly Brewing operates a brewery, taproom and live entertainment venue from two adjacent industrial units on Redkiln Close, Horsham.
More than just a taproom, they put on a range of events including brewery tours and tastings, charity quizzes, a weekly run club, open mics and food-themed events.
Focussing their efforts locally, Brolly supply beer via their taproom onsite direct to the consumer.
During the visit, the Council team were shown around Brolly Brewing’s premises in Horsham, including their new Brolly Fermentarium – a dedicated live music and performance venue with a standing capacity of approximately 130 people or 70 seated attendees.
Meeting with members of the business’ management team, discussions focussed on the opportunities and challenges facing the business, as well as potential areas for future collaboration with the Council.
Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, Cllr Jonathan Taylor, said:
“It was a pleasure meeting with Brook and the team, to learn more about Brolly Brewing and how it has positioned itself as more than simply a brewery or bar, instead focusing on creating a broader community and entertainment offering.
"Brolly is an important independent business within the District’s visitor economy and creative sector, and the Council looks forward to follow-up discussions around potential collaboration opportunities linked to events and cultural activity.”
Brook Saunders, Owner and Founder of Brolly Brewing added:
“We really appreciated the Council’s Enterprising Horsham team and the councillors paying us a visit, giving us the opportunity to show them around the brewery taproom and our new music venue, The Fermentarium. It means a lot knowing the Council is there to support us through a difficult time for the hospitality industry, and we're grateful they took the time to come and see us.”
The visit to Brolly Brewing is part of the Council’s engagement programme with businesses in the Horsham District that help to create, maintain, and promote a prosperous community and local economy.
Keep an eye out for news of future visits.
