Horsham District Council is inviting residents, parish councils and local organisations to take part in the second stage of its Community Governance Review, which launches today (24 July 2026).
The first stage of consultation has now been completed, with responses considered by the Governance Committee. Draft recommendations have been developed and the Council is now seeking feedback on these proposals through a six-week consultation.
The review looks at parish boundaries and governance arrangements across the district to ensure they continue to reflect local communities and support effective local government.
Horsham District Council Chief Executive Jane Eaton said:
"Thank you to everyone who took part in the first consultation. Your feedback has helped us develop draft recommendations and we would now like to hear your views on them.
"It has been 13 years since the last review and many communities across the district have changed during that time. New housing developments, population growth and longstanding boundary anomalies can all affect whether current parish arrangements remain appropriate.
"This review is an opportunity to ensure parish boundaries and council structures continue to reflect local communities and work effectively for residents. We encourage everyone to take part and share their views before the final proposals are prepared."
Once responses to this second consultation have been analysed, the Council will finalise its proposals.
