Horsham District Council has achieved White Ribbon Accreditation, recognising its commitment to preventing harassment, abuse and violence against women and girls.
The accreditation reflects the Council’s pledge to help end men's violence against women and its support for the work of White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to prevent violence against women and girls.
As a White Ribbon Accredited organisation, the Council will deliver a comprehensive multi-year plan designed to strengthen workplace culture, improve systems and processes, and positively influence the wider community.
Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, Cllr Belinda Walters, commented: "I am delighted that the Council has received this recognition.
White Ribbon Accreditation shows our staff have learned what they need to know to make our workplace even safer and friendlier for everyone.
"This is more than a mark of achievement. It is a commitment to working together to create a safer, more respectful environment for women and girls across our District."
A spokesperson for White Ribbon UK said: "White Ribbon Accredited Organisations can make a real difference in helping to end violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among staff and throughout their communities. By raising awareness, employees can learn how to become allies and challenge abusive or harmful behaviour when they encounter it.
