Building on Horsham District Council’s success in becoming an accredited carbon literate organisation in 2025, with nearly 100 Council officers having successfully completed carbon literacy training, the Council is now developing a programme to offer this training to local community leaders, parish and neighbourhood councils, and small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) who employ less than 250 staff in Horsham District.
These accredited one-day workshops will help participants understand why climate change is occurring, provide valuable knowledge and skills required to take action against climate change, and support their understanding of the wider benefits that can come from the transition to a low carbon economy. These include improved health, cleaner air, better access to green spaces and greater resilience to extreme weather.
