Consultation on delivering improvements for a Better Billingshurst
We asked
Last year councillors at Horsham District Council agreed to spend some £2.5million to deliver exciting new improvements in Billingshurst’s village centre, sports grounds, recreation areas and community buildings. This investment is made up of a £1million contribution from the District Council and £1.5million in developer contributions from new home developments in the village over recent years.
Over the last two years, the Council has been working with Billingshurst Parish Council, local community groups and key stakeholders to develop a shortlist of potential infrastructure projects.
In Summer 2025, the Council ran a Public Consultation to find out which improvements you wanted to see.

The consultation received 769 responses. Respondents were predominantly Billingshurst residents (89%), with the remainder working locally, representing organisations, or having other connections to the area.
The Council has prepared a report on the feedback from the Public Consultation which can be viewed here.
We did
The Spending Panel, formed of representatives from Horsham District Council, Billingshurst Parish Council and Billingshurst Community Partnership, met in February 2026 to decide which projects would be taken forward for investment (subject to further detailed assessment and design development). The Public Consultation feedback formed an important part of the decision-making process.
Please see the Better Billingshurst page for more information about the Better Billingshurst Community Fund and Investment Programme as well as the list of infrastructure projects that are being taken forward.
