Competition: Name That Food Waste Truck

Competition banner image

We recently invited primary school classes to come up with a fun name for one of our new food waste collection trucks that travel across the District collecting household food waste.   All suggestions needed to be based around food waste, recycling and the environment.  Read our competition Terms and Conditions.

The competition was launched to celebrate the successful roll out of our new food waste collection service and to encourage children and their families to understand food waste and why reducing and recycling food waste is so important, both for the environment and also to help reduce household food bills.

The competition is now closed. We are currently going through the entries and will announce the winners in due course.

We are grateful to all schools  and pupils who took part in this competition, and also to our Horsham District residents who together managed to divert more than 1000 tonnes of food waste from waste to recycling in just three months since the launch!
