New-build local connection housing

We are committed to sustaining rural communities and helping households who live or work in the parish to stay in the area they are connected to.

Our local connection housing schemes allow residents with a local connection to register for housing in a new-build development without having to demonstrate a housing need.

Applicants will be nominated to the rented properties from Horsham District Council’s Housing Register.

Local connection criteria

This is a local connection development and, in order to have a local connection with Cowfold applicants should:

- Immediately before taking up occupation of a Rented Unit had his/her only or principle home in the parish of Cowfold for a continuous period of not less than 2 (two) years or

- A member of his/her household has a parent, child, brother, sister or adult child whose only or principle home has been for a continuous period of not less than 2 (two) years in the parish of Cowfold and he wishes to be near that relative; or

- Is and has been permanently employed in the parish of Cowfold for a continuous period of not less than 2 (two) years;
