Exciting new play area for Horsham Park

02 Sep 2020

Children can look forward to new improved facilities as plans are underway to renew part of Horsham Park Play Area, which are set to deliver an exciting upgrade to play equipment in October this year.

The northern part of the play area alongside the Pavilions in the Park Car Park is to be completely renewed with an exciting adventure trail which will include a series of sprawling net play structures to take children on an adventure up to a large tree house on the top of the existing grass hill.

The new structures also include a large rope hammock and wind chimes which enable children with limited mobility to be engaged with this part of the play area.

The play area improvement has been funded through contributions from local planning developments and is aimed at providing space for more children to play in an imaginative and challenging way.

“I am delighted that our plans for this new play area are coming to fruition and that work will very soon be underway.

I’m particularly pleased that the new play area will also cater for children with more limited access to facilities and aims to provide some inclusive play features.

The Council is pleased to be supporting these much needed community projects as provision of high quality play equipment is one of its key priorities.”

In order to facilitate the refurbishment, the northern part of Horsham Park Play Area including the existing zip wire will be out of action from early September to mid-October.
