New Neighbourhood Warden for Billingshurst

08 Dec 2020

Horsham District Council is pleased to welcome a new Neighbourhood Warden to the Billingshurst Parish.

Julie Green has joined Barry Faust as a Neighbourhood Warden for Billingshurst Parish. Julie brings a wealth of experience to the role as she was previously a Police Community Support Officer with Sussex Police in the Billingshurst area and is also a trained nurse.

I am really looking forward to becoming an integral part of the Billingshurst community,  working alongside my colleague Barry Faust and other agencies to help make it a better place to live.

Julie Green, Billingshurst Neighbourhood Warden

The Neighbourhood Warden Scheme was set up to provide a reassuring presence in the community. Wardens can deal with issues such as anti-social behaviour, dog fouling and environmental crime. They engage with local schools, run activities for young people and liaise with vulnerable / elderly residents. Wardens offer advice on crime prevention and refer crime incidents to the police, acting as professional witnesses. They are not, however, a replacement for the police, nor are they an emergency service. The Billingshurst Warden scheme is funded by Billingshurst Parish Council and managed by Horsham District Council.

If you would like to contact either Julie or Barry, you can do so by emailing billingshurstwardens@horsham.gov.uk or calling Julie on 07795 051529 or Barry on 07795 051516.
