Horsham District Council’s Cabinet Member for Recycling and Waste Cllr Toni Bradnum recently spent a morning with the Council’s waste collection crew. Here’s what she had to say:
Just a quick shout out for our wonderful waste collection crew.
I was delighted to spend the morning with Andy, Paul and Lee on their daily refuse collection lorry. It gave me a first-hand glimpse of the very hard work they undertake every day on behalf of our community. Out in all weathers, all through the COVID pandemic, Saturdays and Bank Holidays, the endless stream of our waste is collected by these hard-working men and women throughout the District and always with a friendly smile.
No wonder our waste team are held in such high regard and are respected by all. The skill manoeuvring these huge trucks through narrow roads and round parked cars is truly brilliant.
Collecting approaching 64,000 bins every week, they do a fantastic job and I’m full of admiration for the whole team.
