Polling Station Review

Residents who are registered to vote are invited to share their views on places used for voting in Horsham District by 30 October 2023.

Every five years Horsham District Council has to undertake a statutory review of all polling districts (the electoral areas making up a district ward), polling places (the buildings or areas in which polling stations are located) and polling stations (the rooms or areas where voting takes place).

The current review also takes account of the new parliamentary constituency boundaries which were recently reviewed by the Boundary Commission for England (BCE). The final BCE recommendations can be viewed on the Boundary Commission’s  website.

The review seeks to ensure:

  • Polling stations are fit for purpose and if not, identify suitable alternatives.
  • All polling stations are accessible for all electors.

All Horsham residents who are registered to vote can make comments on the existing and proposed arrangements by Monday 30 October. More information is available at: www.horsham.gov.uk/pollingstationreview. Comments and suggestions are welcomed from individuals or groups who have particular expertise in access to premises or facilities for persons with any type of disability.

All representations and views must be made in writing by email to elections@horsham.gov.ukor by post to: Electoral Services, Horsham District Council, Parkside,  Horsham, RH12 1RL by Monday 30 October 2023

All comments received will be published on The Council’s website at the end of the review, prior to consideration by the Council's Governance Committee on 27 November 2023, and the Council meeting on 13 December 2023.
