Horsham District Council and the other nine local authorities surrounding Gatwick Airport have submitted their relevant representations regarding Gatwick Airport’s Northern Runway Project.
Horsham councillors have carried a Notice of Motion regarding the proposed expansion of Gatwick Airport’s Northern Runway. They have stated that the expansion would be damaging to the environment, including impacts on noise, pollution and biodiversity, as well as to its climate and carbon reduction aims. Additionally, the Council does not believe the existing road and rail infrastructure is adequate for the needs of an expanded airport.
All concerns will be addressed at a public examination into the Northern Runway Project, which is likely to start in early 2024.
