To mark Great Big Green Week for 2025, Horsham District Council has announced a new round of Green LEAP small business grant funding to support local businesses, which will open to applications on Friday 11 July 2025 at 10am.

Through Green LEAP, small Horsham District based businesses can apply for up to £5,000 towards climate-friendly projects which they can demonstrate will not only help future-proof their business, but also support the achievement of their business climate ambitions.

Businesses are advised to review their business plans now, so they can submit their application early, as they will be required to include a full business plan in their grant application. It is important businesses prepare early, as applications will close on Monday, 21 July 2025 at midday.

To help businesses understand what is required, a ‘How to write your business plan’ video is available to watch for free on the Council’s website.

Cllr Jonathan Taylor, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, said: “I am pleased we are announcing this new round of Green LEAP funding to mark Great Big Green Week, as part of our support to help local businesses to unlock the business benefits that come with acting more sustainably.

This will be another great opportunity to access funding and also to revisit or pull together your business plan and showcase your business's climate ambitions for long-term success. We are pleased to hear from past applicants that they have found this to be a valuable exercise.

“I encourage businesses to start preparing their business plans now so they can apply for this next round of funding early.”

Green LEAP can be used to fund towards a whole host of projects, such as positive swaps which help reduce business’ carbon emissions. Raylands Country Park, a holiday park located in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, recently received Green LEAP funding to do just this. They switched from a petrol to an electric vehicle to transport staff, customers and make deliveries.

The next round of Green LEAP funding opens to applications on Friday 11 July 2025 at 10am and will close midday on Monday 21 July 2025. Find out more about eligibility requirements, the application process and how to access the business planning video on the Council website.

LEAP has received £50,000 from the UK Government, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
