Horsham District businesses will soon have the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £5,000 to support climate-friendly projects through the Council’s upcoming round of Green LEAP funding. Applications will open on Friday 11 July 2025 at 10am and close on Monday, 21 July 2025 at midday.
Green LEAP is designed to support local businesses in unlocking a range of benefits that enhance their futureproofing and resilience, including reducing operational costs and attracting new customers. The grants can be used to fund a whole host of projects, such as introducing rainwater harvesting or switching to renewable energy solutions.
Cllr Jonathan Taylor, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Enterprise and Property, said: “As outlined in our Enterprising Horsham framework, we are dedicated to driving local economic growth by actively nurturing business development and securing green prosperity. The Green LEAP grants deliver on both aims, providing valuable funding to help future-proof local businesses and enabling them to access multiple opportunities that come with embracing sustainability.
I’d strongly encourage local businesses to consider applying and get their application in early, to take advantage of this fantastic grant scheme.”
TC Branding, a Horsham-based promotional merchandise company, received a Green LEAP grant to help them implement several measures to become more sustainable and reduce their operational costs: "As a small local business, we are incredibly grateful for the support and funding provided by Horsham District Council. The grant we have received has been instrumental in covering the costs of new lighting, a boiler and hand dryers within our buildings.
“With the new boiler and LED lighting, we anticipate a significant decrease in energy consumption. These upgrades contribute directly to our efforts in reducing our carbon footprint and lower energy use means reduced operational costs, benefiting both our business and the environment. This investment also supports our ongoing Planet Mark certification and strengthens our commitment to sustainability."
The next round of Green LEAP funding opens to applications on Friday 11 July 2025 at 10am and will close midday on Monday 21 July 2025.
